Welcome to Sterling Advice. I'm not sure how you've arrived here, but I'm glad you've arrived. I try to update my blog at least 2 times per week; sometimes I'll update it more often, sometimes less.

I started this blog in 2009 to a) blog my fitness journey b) try and help others c) offer advice and other interesting fitness, health, and science information. Much of what I post is obviously opinon; opinion based on research, past success and failures, and science. Please take what I post and do your own research -- don't just take my word.

You'll notice on the left and right side of my blog multiple items. First, please sign up for FREE email updates and RSS feeds; these will automatically notify you when I post new items. You can also follow me on Twitter. You'll also notice a blog archive where you can read past posts; take a gander at those and you'll see what my blog is about.

You'll notice that I recommend and endorse a few things. I will never endorse something that I have not read and/or done myself or that I don't fully believe in. P90X, The Primal Blueprint (Mark Sisson), Eat Stop Eat (Brad Pilon), and Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle (Tom Venuto) are all things that I incorporate into my daily life. They are pillars of my health and fitness life. And they are ALL worth buying, reading, doing, following-the-advice-of, etc.

Just a bit about me. I'm 39. I've been married for almost 17 years. I have 4 beautiful children ages 16, 12, 10, & 8 and another one (or two) on the way via adoption from Ethiopia. I used to be fat, miserable, disease-ridden, and out-of-shape. You never know what curveballs life will throw at you, but I don't plan to ever be there again.
